Michael Baker - The Calls 1979

Michael Baker, 28 had arrived at 6.40am to open up and start the morning shift at the Crown point mill in the Calls area of the city centre. Minutes after entering the building he was bludgeoned to death by a robber who had broken into the building in the hopes of stealing from a safe on the premises.
A red Stanley knife with the name Paul and the initials GN written on it was found underneath Michaels body, It is believed that the killer had dropped the knife in the struggle, even with this evidence, fingerprints found at the scene and several eyewitnesses describing a man seen loitering outside the warehouse the killing has never been solved.
In the 1980s the mill was converted into flats and is now part of The Chandler complex
